CHAMPIONS: Communities in Pandemic Preparedness and Response

The Global Fund’s Communities in Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project - Community Engagement (COPPER CE) Strategic Initiative was aimed at increasing participation of key vulnerable populations, key populations and last-mile populations in pandemic prevention preparedness and response (PPR). This report provides an overview of the experience of implementers from eight countries–, five from Africa: Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and three from Asia-Pacific: Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines.

A documentary complementing this resource was produced by ACT! AP hosted by APCASO, through the COPPER Knowledge Hub. It showcases the outcomes of the Global Fund supported COPPER CE in Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This was implemented from 2024-2025 by the Activists Coalition on TB - Asia-Pacific (ACT! AP) hosted by APCASO, as well as our 3 country partners: KHANA, Jaringan Indonesia Positif (JIP), and Action for Health Initiatives (ACHIEVE), Inc. You can view the documentary here.
