Webinar 10: Country Implementation (Part 2)
The tenth session of the LESSONS Webinar spotlighted experiences from the Communities in Pandemic Preparedness and Response (COPPER) country implementers: Philippines, Nigeria, and Liberia. During the discussion, the countries offered powerful lessons on how communities can move from being passive recipients of health policies to becoming active shapers of national strategies on pandemic preparedness and response.
At the opening of the session, Olive Mumba of the Global Fund emphasized that COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of communities being included in decision-making processes. Olive shared how capacity-building efforts have enabled CSOs to design advocacy strategies, engage in policy dialogues, and strengthen accountability mechanisms.
